Open-trade limits: stopping swing trading without losing customers
Every melted gold provider has seen a customer buy in the morning and sell at noon once the price is up. The provider carries the risk of that round trip, because they hold the price until settlement.
A gram limit is the simplest way to control that risk, as long as it is measured correctly. Ganjine measures the net open position: approved buys add grams and approved sells subtract them. A request that is still pending or was denied has no effect.
